Tuesday Tantalizers is happy to welcome Sue Brown, and her new novel, A TALE TOLD IN DARKNESS.  Sue, please tell us about your new M/M vampire erotica tale.

Cal loves to snuggle up in bed with his partner, Lee, and listen to a tale told in the darkness. His favourite story is about the vampire, Lord Oliver Brook, a lone vampire in London, who uses humans for sex and food.

When Michael Benton moves in next door, Brook's world takes an unexpected turn. Young, blond and gorgeous, Michael doesn't discourage his attentions, but he makes it plain he doesn't want to become a vampire.

Against his own nature, Brook takes their relationship slowly. Then Michael disappears and Brook discovers he's not been the only one pursuing the young human. Will he find Michael before he's lost forever?

Shivery! Give us an excerpt.

“Tell me a story, Lee,” Cal whispers in my ear, his warm breath ghosting across my skin, making me shiver.

“Another one?”

“It’s been days,” he protests as he settles behind me, a warm heavy weight against my chilled body.

“Twenty-four hours.” I press back into him, feeling his chest hair tickle my back. We’re both wearing pyjama bottoms, our concession to staying at his parents’ house, and I mourn the familiar loss of Cal’s prick, nestling against my arse. It’s there, muffled in the plaid fabric. I laugh at myself for missing his dick.

“I need a present for being so patient with my dad,” he says. Cal puts his arm around me and I hug it immediately, placing his hand over my heart, covering the tattoo we got on our tenth anniversary together.

“You have been a good boy.” I lower my voice, making it as sultry as I can.

He shivers and I smile. Cal is very predictable.

“Very Kathleen,” he says hoarsely. Cal is a Kathleen Turner fan and nothing turns him on more than a low, gravelly voice.

“Do you want a story about a vampire, a werewolf or a dragon?” I ask.

There’s silence in the darkness as Cal considers. “A vampire. A big, bad vampire.” And before I can speak, he says, “And if you make ‘em sparkly….”

I snort. “I know, I know.”

I parse through my collection of stories. You’d think after twelve years I’d have run out of tales to tell, but if I’ve repeated myself, Cal never complains.

“I want Oliver and Michael’s story,” he says.

“I told you that one last week. And the week before that.”

“Please.” Cal waits patiently, occasionally pressing a kiss against the back of my neck in
encouragement. Sometimes I make him wait longer than necessary to get another kiss.

“Once upon a time—”

“Does this have a happy ending?”

I frown at being interrupted. Once I’ve started a story, Cal is usually rapt until I say 'the end'.

“You know the story.”

“It has to have a happy ending, Lee,” he insists.

I turn in his arms. “Babe?” I stroke his cheek. “Are you all right?” Cal is silent. Alarm bells start to ring in my head. “Cal, talk to me.”

“I will,” he says, and his voice is thick with tears. “But tell me the story first.”

“With a happy ending?”

“The happiest.”

I roll over onto my back and settle Cal so his head is resting on my chest. I think, I’m not sure though, that I can feel wetness from his eyes. I cough to clear my throat. “Once upon a time, a vampire lived a long, long death.”

Cal interrupts again. “A big, bad vampire.”

“Are you telling this story or am I?”

“You are.” Cal sighs, snuggling in close until he’s virtually lying on top of me.

“As I said, the big, bad vampire lived a long, long death. He was the worst kind of vampire, drinking the blood of his lovers until they were drained dry, empty husks to be discarded. Occasionally he turned a young man or woman, making them just like him, soulless monsters who roamed the world.”

Cal raises his head. “He was bisexual?” He doesn’t sound impressed. I grin at his tone.

“You know he was but don’t worry, I’m not going to make you listen to het sex.”

“Good,” he grumbles and settles back down on my chest. “I don’t want to listen to squelchy.”

“Girls don’t have nits, you know? Some of them are really hot.” I am bisexual, a fact Cal repeatedly tries to deny.

“Back to the story, and no pussy.”

“If you interrupt again, you’ll get long descriptions of het sex.”

“I promise to shut up,” he says.

“Where was I?”

“He was making more boy vampires.”

“And loved going down on beautiful women. Ouch!” I yelp as he pinches my hip. “You interrupted.”

“Don’t ask a bloody question, then.” Cal kisses the abused skin. “I need this story.”

He sounds so desperate I stop teasing him. “The vampire’s name was Brook. Lord Oliver Brook to be precise.”

“That’s a—” I hear Cal’s teeth snap together as he shuts up.

“Better. Lord Oliver had been a minor lord from the Regency era, but now he was just Brook.”

Great teaser. We don't want to miss this one! Where can we buy A TALE TOLD IN DARKNESS?

Tuesday Tantalizers on SOME LIKE IT HOTTER is pleased to welcome Milly Taiden and her werewolf paranormal erotic romance novella WYNTER'S CAPTIVE.

Welcome, Milly! One reviewer describes WYNTER'S CAPTIVE  as a "hot, quick read." Please tell us more!

Being held captive for winter never felt so good.

Lili is on her way to her cousin’s wedding when she thinks she hit a man in the road. Leaving the safety of her car to check on him turns out the be a big mistake, and pretty soon Lili is being abducted and held against her will by a super-sexy wolf who her body longs to touch. But just because he’s hot doesn’t mean she’s going to remain a captive.

Cade is not just an alpha, he’s a very wealthy man, used to getting what he wants. So when he attempts to abduct his ex-friend’s fiancĂ©, he doesn’t expect to wind up with the wrong woman. Just how did he wind up with the maid of honor? And why does the woman melt every inch of him? But when she escapes, real danger awaits her beyond his protection. Cade must convince her to see beyond his deception if he has any chance to keep her alive.

Give us more!  How about a little tantalizer from WYNTER'S CAPTIVE?

He grabbed her outstretched hand and stood. She twined her fingers into his hair and pulled his head down. Her boldness sparked a roaring inside him. Passionate urgency spread through his limbs. She licked his lips and rubbed her tongue over his. Blood pounded in his ears as arousal swelled inside him.

“Argh!” She growled at his lip and tugged at his shirt, wanting it off.

He grinned, pulled the material over his head, and left his chest and upper body devoid of clothing.

“Yesss,” she moaned. Tracing every line of his chest with her fingertips, she slowly moved her nimble hands down his torso.

“Oh, baby.” He groaned with each kiss of her lips on his chest.

She licked his nipples, first one and then the other, sucked the tiny bud into her mouth and twirled her tongue on the flat disc.

“Lili,” he groaned.

Moving his hands to the table’s edge, she silently commanded him to hang on. He watched her lick, kiss, and nip his pecs, abs, and down to his belly button. There, she dipped her tongue into the hole and bit down while gazing up at him. Aroused amber eyes glittered at him. She was so beautiful. His cock jerked as soon as her hands gripped his base and squeezed. He hissed out a breath.

He held on to the table’s edge so hard he heard cracking of wood. She did a slow pump up his entire length. Then he watched her use the moisture dripping from his slit as lubrication. With one long lick, she worked her way from his balls, up the throbbing underside vein, and to the crown of his cock. Once there she licked his mushroomed head in a circle and followed that by sucking his dick into her mouth.

Suck after suck, she raised the bar on his pleasure. She jerked and licked with enthusiasm, her lips tight and wet around his cock. He loved listening to her soft little moans when he thrust into her mouth. Sparks gathered at his spine.

He drew her off his cock and kissed her swollen lips. Shifting positions, he pulled the pajama top and bottom off her body in quick moves. She leaned back on the edge of the heavy wood table. Warm, curvy flesh filled his hands when he grabbed her by the waist, lifted her to the smooth wood table, and sat her on the edge.

“Lean back, love.”

She glanced over her shoulder, but no dishes sat on that side of the long table. He watched her lean until she was held up by her elbows. She peered at him with passion-dazed eyes.

He did a visual tour down her curvy body to her glistening sex. She spread her legs wide, bending them at the knees and giving him full view of her pink pussy. With a deep inhale, he drew in her scent and growled. Cinnamon and her musky aroused honey filled his lungs. His cock jerked, needing inside her. Moisture dripped from her slit, crawling down to her ass. He glanced up and caught her nibbling her lip. Their eyes locked.

“Lick me, Cade. Make me come,” she pleaded.

Cade pulled a chair and sat down to eat…her. Her pussy sat before him, spread wide open and glistening with honey. He curled his arms around her thighs, moved her legs over his shoulders, and took a swipe up her swollen pussy lips.

She inhaled a sharp breath and moaned. “More.”

He licked up her trimmed curls and sucked on her juices. She whimpered, wiggling her hips in his grip. Unhurried, he licked around the tight pleasure bundle he knew would be her undoing. He swiped his tongue up her asshole and to her sex. Drinking in the honey dripping on his tongue, he plunged his tongue into her cunt. He growled, and she jerked.

“Yesss.” She panted and moaned all the while lying flat on the table.

His cock was rock hard from tasting, smelling, and listening to her. With one hand he grasped his cock. She grabbed hold of his hair and rode his face. Over and over he fucked her with his tongue and jerked himself at the same time. Precum dripped in heavy amounts from his cock. Fuck, she was so hot. Moans, pants, and ragged breathing were all he heard from her.

Her legs shook, breathing hitched, and whimpering increased. “God, Cade. I’m so close…”

Letting go of his shaft, he held her open and sucked down on her clit. She tensed, shuddered, and screamed. Her body bucked and dripped wet heat over his lips.

“Oh my, Cade.” She shook every few seconds. Pleasure filled him at the reverent way she said his name. He chuckled and stood. She peered up at him with a look so hot it almost made him come.

He lifted her off the table and helped her to her feet.

She turned on the table and splayed her upper body over the same spot she’d been lying on. Then she wiggled her ass at him. “Fuck me, baby.”

Tuesday Tantalizers is pleased to have Tiffinie Helmer guesting here today on SOME LIKE IT HOTTER.

Tiffinie writes about Alaska, Alaskan men -- and the women whose lives are changed by getting involved with these hunky northern guys.  Best of all, Tiffinie specializes in making the reader smile because no matter how big and tough her heroes are, or how lost in the ways of Alaska her heroines are, or how meddling her moose are -- her characters are always so endearing!  Tiffinie's books include WILD MEN OF ALASKA: FOUR BOOK BUNDLE, consisting of IMPACT, MOOSED UP, DREAMWEAVER, and BEARING ALL, or you can buy each title separately.

Here is Tiffinie introducing BEARING ALL:

All he wants is her...
Former Russian spy, Sergei Lavinsky, code name The Bear, is hibernating on the edge of Alaska. He lures the woman he loves to the Edge of Reason Lodge, hoping enough time has passed that her heart has softened and her knives have dulled.

All she wants is revenge...
Kate "No Mercy" Mercer is a CIA Agent sent to assassinate him. Again. This time she intends to succeed without ending up in his bed. She has a dozen reasons to kill him, and one of them is personal.

They'll be completely stripped bare before the night is over...

Here's a tantalizer for BEARING ALL:

“Sergei,” she greeted, her voice as cold as the sea foam lapping the shore, icing over.
“Come to kill me again?”  He arched a brow.
Why didn’t he seem concerned?  She had a gun trained on him, and he didn’t even seem surprised to see her.  It had been two years since he’d turned her life upside down.  Two years of planning, of living with regret, and being fueled with the promise of vengeance.
He took a step toward her.
“Stop right there.”  She raised the gun a little higher, not realizing she’d lowered it a tad.  He had however, if the lift of his lips was any indication.
“You don’t vant to shoot me.”  He purred the words and continued his slow cat-like stroll.
She shot off the 9mm toward the empty beach and swung the weapon back to aim at him.  The sound echoed over the waters like ice calving off a glacier.  Sergei froze.  Good, the man needed to take her seriously.  She was deadly serious and she wasn’t leaving until he was good and dead.
He said her name in that sexy, dark Russian accent of his, reminding her of how he’d trailed his lips over her, whispering her name during the midnight hours as his hard, powerful body made love to hers.  No, fucked hers.  There had been no love between them.  She tried to crush the memories of the night that seemed carved into her consciousness.  Now was not the time for thoughts like this.  They’d just distract her from her mission.
“You know that I’m sanctioned,” he said.
“The United States Government might have pardoned you, but I haven’t.  There are still crimes you must pay, deaths that must be avenged.”
“And you’ve set yourself up as my executioner?”
“Gone rogue, have you?”
“Isn’t that what you tried to get me to do?”
“Yes.”  His dark eyes traveled down her white snowsuit.  She doubted he could tell anything different about her by the way she was bundled up.  So bundled up to protect herself from the harsh elements she’d failed to take in account that seeing him, talking with him, would have her sweating in the get up.  She envied him his casual clothes, with the cold breeze ruffling his half-opened shirt.  She could see the definitions of his pectoral muscles, the soft sprinkling of chest hair that she remembered nuzzling her cheek against after experiencing the most intense climax of her life within his protective embrace.
“Rogue looks good on you.”
“Shut up.”
“Kill me, then.  You’ve come a long vay to do it.”  He spread his arms out to encompass the imposing terrain.
Kate squeezed the trigger.

Tuesday Tantalizers on SOME LIKE IT HOTTER welcomes Lindsay Avalon and her paranormal detective novel, BREAKING THE NEXUS.  Lindsay felt it was necessary to include this teaser line in the description of her novel: *** Warning this book contains graphic sex scenes featuring a sexy detective ***

Oh, yes! Our kind of reading! Give us a little taste of Lindsay Avalon:

I am a wife, a programmer, and now an author. I have an adorable mini Schnauzer and more books than I have room for. I love reading romance because no matter what may be happening in my life, I can always count on my books to end happily ever after. The day I met my husband was the day I truly began believing in happily ever after. After hearing me complain a few too many times that I had “nothing” to read despite the hundreds of paperbacks scattered around the house, my husband began suggesting I write my own stories. When I finally took his advice I discovered that although I enjoy my day job as a software engineer, my true calling is to be an author.
My sister drilled into me an appreciation for fantasy and mythology, something I try to bring to my books. My debut novel, Breaking the Nexus started as a book written for NaNoWriMo and has grown to so much more. It was the conduit that introduced me to a fantastic group of independent authors who have changed my life in unimaginable ways.
When I’m not writing, I’ve found a passion for blogging and interviewing fellow authors. I also love reading (of course!), baking, crochet, sewing sock monkeys, playing video games, and all sorts of random crafts. I have an incurable love of rubber duckies and stuffed animals, and I believe nobody should have to grow up if they don’t want.

Describe BREAKING THE NEXUS in three sentences:

A supernatural warrior trying to save humans. A detective searching for a killer. And a romance neither expected.

You're just teasing! Give us a longer description of BREAKING THE NEXUS.

Throughout history, myths and legends of extraordinary creatures have been told and retold. Fantastic tales of demons and banshees, gryphons and dragons, and of course, magic. Stories that every child grows to learn are nothing more than fantasy…or are they?

Beyond the world you see lies a hidden realm, the Mythrian Realm, inhabited by all of the creatures you’ve been told are mere fiction. Only one thing lies between humans and the truth: the Nexus. A magical barrier erected millennia ago to separate the two realms, it has stood the test of time. Until now.

For Mythrian Sha Phoenix, magic is nothing new. But when she stumbles upon a portal on the verge of collapse, her fate will forever change. Pulled through the portal into the Human Realm, she lands in the middle of Detective Connor Flynn’s brutal murder scene. Soon it is obvious someone is using blood magic to try to bring down the Nexus. Together, Connor and Sha must work to unravel the secrets before the barrier falls and the realms collide.

The Nexus is breaking and all hell is about to unleash…literally.

What was your inspiration for BREAKING THE NEXUS?

My sister used to tell me tons of Greek and Roman mythologies so I've always loved  magic and mythical creatures. As I got older, she introduced me to the fantasy genre and I started reading the mythologies and legends of other cultures, in particular Celtic lore. I was hooked and used to daydream that magic was real in our every day lives. Seriously, who wouldn't want the chance to be able to walk side by side creatures believed to be fantasy? To be able to manipulate magic or shapeshift into a beast? One thing led to another and Breaking the Nexus began to form.

Are you a plotter or a pantser?

Pantser definitely! In junior high and high school, teachers always made you write outlines for papers. I'd write the paper and then write the outline based off of the final paper. I can't plan, it just never works. I sit down at a computer and the words just begin to flow from my finger tips. If I try to plan, I end up frustrated and without ideas or the story deviates so completely it wasn't even worth planning. The closest I'll come is having a vague idea about an over arching plot point.

How much of what you write is what you know and how much is pure fantasy?

It depends. I love murder mysteries and at one time planned to be a forensic scientist so I know a bit about that and tried to incorporate some of that into the portions dealing with Connor being a detective. A lot of it is fantasy though because fantasy is so much more fun :)

Give us a just a tantalizing tease from BREAKING THE NEXUS, Lindsay.

As he walked up a set of stairs, the movement jostled her. If her lips just happened to brush against his neck when her head moved against the crook of his shoulder, it wasn’t her fault. She watched his throat work as he swallowed hard. Good, she was getting to him. Served him right when he’d gotten under her skin.
“Stop that,” he ordered, the command holding no heat. He shifted her weight for a moment while he unlocked the front door and pushed it open.
Unable to resist pushing him a little further, she brushed her lips against his skin once more. “Stop what?” Sha gazed up at him, the heat of his eyes making her melt. Those metallic eyes shifted and swirled unlike anything she’d ever seen, even among the Metallum Sorceri she’d met over the years.
He let her body slide down his, hands settling on her hips, holding her body close against him for a moment. “You’re playing with fire,” he warned.
“That’s alright, lucky for you, I’m an Infernum.”
“Really? And what does that mean?” Although he towered over her, his head was bent and she thought she might be able to reach his mouth if she stretched
“It means I happen to like playing with fire,” she whispered, standing on her tip toes to brush her lips to his.
She’d intended it to be a brief kiss, more of a tease than anything else. They hardly knew each other and had just escaped from a potentially deadly situation, after all. But the moment their lips met, all rational thought became impossible, incinerated by the flash of desire that swept through her.
One hand slid into her hair and fisted, pulling her head back to give him better access to her mouth. His tongue swept over hers, drawing a low moan from her. By the flame, his taste. Her hands grasped his coat as she pressed her breasts against his chest, pressure building low in her core. He was staking his claim on her, and she wanted more. Frantic to feel him, she pushed her hands beneath his shirt, running her fingers along his chest through the dusting of hair on his chest. Too soon he broke away, both of them breathing heavily.
“That—that probably shouldn’t have happened,” he said after a moment, stepping back to put some distance between them.
Sha touched her lips, swollen from their passion. Kissing him had electrified her senses, energizing her more than when she tapped a node, a direct line to power. It would be all too easy to become addicted to him. “That’s funny, I was thinking it should happen again.”
“Sha, I’m serious. I’m supposed to protect you, not make out with you on my porch.”
“Connor, I’m serious,” she mimicked. “I can protect myself and I don’t know what ‘make out’ means, but if it makes you feel better, I kissed you.”
His hand smoothed over her hair, brushing it from her face. “You’re a witch, aren’t you? Say it again.”
Confused, she cocked her head to the side. “Huh?”
“My name. I liked hearing you say it instead of ‘Detective.’”
Her heart melted a little. She had to tread carefully or she’d end up falling for this man. “Connor. And I’m not a witch, I’m a Sorceri, there’s a difference.”

What's next for your series?

Breaking the Nexus is the first in a trilogy featuring Connor and Sha as the hero and heroine. Book 2, Waking the Phoenix, will be out sometime this spring or summer. I'm also working on a novella featuring Sha's half-brother, Achaius, who's a panther Chimerae (shifter). This will be out hopefully this March!
