The Hill family saga concludes as loyalties are questioned, faiths will be tested and undying love may come at a terrible cost…
Fara Hill, mother and faithful wife, is torn between her family at home and her urge to be at sea. Soon, she learns some disturbing truths. Was the past a fairy tale instead of reality?
Chloe Hill, loving wife and young mother, questions her faith when her husband sets an ultimatum she cannot meet. Will she be able to keep her marriage from falling apart?
Adrienne Bellamont Hill, born of a valiant captain and a fiery redhead, is untamed to her core and will bow to no man. Then Christian du Plessis enters her life with an offer she can’t refuse. Discovering the man behind the polished gentleman, she is drawn to him in many ways. Holding out for love is a family tradition, but can she resist the temptation of passion?
Christian finds this young woman to be a fascinating challenge, and is torn between keeping his distance from her and succumbing to her charms. A fierce battle of wills ensues as he sees she is much more than he ever imagined.
But danger lurks, threatening to destroy everything…
Can these two strong-willed individuals unite in the cause before time runs out?

“I know we’re supposed to be focused on Pierce and Elena, but it’s important I tell you something. You’ve been a good friend and I’m grateful for that.”
“It’s my pleasure,” he replied, but she caught the hesitant note in his voice and the tremor in his muscles as he held her.
She frowned, lifting her head to get a clear look at him. “Are you all right?”
“Yes, I’m fine. Are you?”
She nodded, caught by his careful scrutiny. She couldn’t look away no matter how much she knew she should. His dark eyes held sympathy and yet something more as a bright glint lightened them. Was it desire? Robert used to look at her that way, but he was such a gentleman, he’d never acted on his feelings entirely except for the occasional brief embrace or chaste kiss on her forehead.
The tension between them dropped away until there was a comfortable moment of silence, and the look between them heightened into so much more. Her heartbeat thudded softly, and her lips parted as she looked up at Christian.
He touched her cheek and then her jaw, caressing it with his thumb and fingertips. With a gentle grasp on her chin, he pulled her towards him by degrees. Her gaze dropped to his lips and she caught her breath as she knew his intent. His mouth moved onto hers and she sighed into the kiss.
He was patient, steady as he kissed her, clearly allowing her the chance to reject him if she wished. But, she did not; she couldn’t deny him. His arm encircled her, pulling her tighter against him and she rested her hands on his chest comfortably. He sought her lips and dipped his tongue in, meeting hers in a pleasurable moment. She murmured in encouragement, savoring his dark taste, and lifted her arms to loop them around his neck. She kissed him back gently, trying to keep up. Her breasts felt sensitive and heavy as she lay against him, an odd response.
Christian pulled back slightly, a small smile on his face. He caressed her cheek once more. “I didn’t want to startle you.”
“You didn’t.”
He nodded. “Good. I think I shocked you the last time.”
“That’s true.”
“I’ve wanted to do that ever since I met you.”
“You have?”
He grinned, and then appeared to sober a little. “You’ve never been kissed like that before, have you? Just now or the way I kissed you at the parade?”
She shook her head.
“That’s what I thought.”
Adrienne frowned. “Did I do something wrong?”
“Not at all. It was perfect.”
Perfect. That was the right word for what she’d felt.
“I won’t push you, Adrienne, so you have to tell me what you want.”
“What do you mean?”
He sighed. “I’m not in the habit of getting involved with women who aren’t experienced, but I can’t seem to help myself with you. So, you must tell me if you want me to stop.”
She swallowed, finally aware of what he meant. Reason should be acknowledged, she knew that, but it had nothing to do with the way Christian made her feel. With him, she wanted to be a little reckless. “I like it when you kiss me.”
He laughed, and then a dangerous look came over his face. “I want you, Adrienne, but I can’t make a virgin my mistress. I won’t. And you deserve more than that.”
She nodded. “So, what are you saying? That’s it? One kiss, and then…nothing?”
He frowned. “I don’t know.”
Adrienne took a deep breath. “Perhaps we had both better decide what it is we want.”
He nodded. “That’s a good idea.” He disentangled himself from her, rose from the settee and went back to the balcony.
She followed him, unwilling to let him walk out of her life so abruptly. Why she should care so much, she couldn’t say. “You don’t have to leave yet.”
Christian shook his head. “No, but it’s a wise decision. Otherwise, I may do something we’ll both regret.”
